Flash Acres.

This is Flash.

And these are her acres.

This is the caretaker (and owner) of both:

The other day, Ben Benschneider came out to take photos of the place for the Seattle Times Pacific Northwest Magazine. As the interior designer, I went to help set the place up for photos as best I could. You see much of the project is still unfinished. But here are a couple of my photos to show you what we have so far:

This one is the main room in the bunkhouse.

Front Desk.

This would be the best for a design studio…. or the front door of my new speakeasy hidden bar restaurant… Just have one of these as the front desk. Nothing else around it. Someone takes the elevator up, empties out into the white white white lobby of your ________( fill in the blank)  and this is the only thing to greet them. So fun! I want this!

One of my client’s is including a “7/8” room in her new vacation home. This is a room where she wants her guests to play and make things. A place where they might feel 7 or 8 years old again. We are doing this room with mix of found and reclaimed – and you always need stools in a workroom. These are a steal!

I have been lame in posting lately. Yes, I know! And I am sorry! I hope to have the proof of pay-off for my absence (results of yesterday’s photo shoot) later today, as my latest interior project (Heartland Cafe in West Seattle) is finally complete!

Here are some things that I found while doing some last minute shopping for the restaurant:

One of my latest fantasy’s is opening up a retail space / gallery / interiors office – and yes – I would call it “Take Out”.

I love this train depot filing cabinet with the roll top fronts – of course this would be just another place to store my thousands of loose paint chips. I like the chair too.

This is a nicely culled together piece – crates, metal shelving, heavy wire spokes, patina = wine rack.

And this piece (a twinkie mold) makes me want to bake!

I know there are about a dozen different companies doing this but I think this one does the best job: Schubladen ! Just saying the name feels good in my mouth.

Yesterday the 12 foot farm table designed by Modern Object was installed in the space. Here are some quick and crappy photos of the table – it is awesome!
