New Year’s Resolution

One of my promises to myself this year was to make sure to document and share the work I do. Thus I have been scheduling photo shoots like a mad woman as well as trying to find the right platform for a new website – something mobile friendly, easily updated by me or mine rather than a team of specialists etc. But for now I thought I would just start posting stuff willy-nilly to my blog.

Here are a couple of shots from Wednesday’s shoot.

Story: Cute family expecting their third daughter. The first two daughters are heading into their tween – teen years and the parents wanted them to be excited about bunking-up in the same room together. Here is a BEFORE shot of the room:

You Light Up My Life.

When I was in 2nd grade I had an experience that scarred me to this day. Sitting in a horseshoe shape in the music room of a new school, a thirty something teacher with long straight blonde hair and no sense of children or childhood made me stand up and sing “You Light Up My Life” to the entire class unaccompanied so she could “see what kind of voice” I had. After I failed miserably (I didn’t even know all of the words, and started crying about half way through), she made another girl stand and show me how I was supposed to have done it. This other girl won the talent show later that month singing that song, and then went on to sing in commercials.

Isn’t that kind of mean.

But this is nice!

Such a nice change from the overused – especially here in Seattle – Edison Bulb!
